The Wildwood Early Childhood Center is an 11 classroom school serving students in both Preschool and Kindergarten. An extended day program is offered both before and after school. All of our classrooms have highly qualified teachers and at least one full-time educational assistant. The Wildwood Early Childhood Center provides a wide range of special education and support services including speech, occupational and physical therapy as well as reading support. The Kindergarten classes also participate in computer, physical education, art and music classes.

The staff at the Wildwood Early Childhood Center continues to be actively involved in several professional development opportunities to remain current with educational trends. They participate in after school groups to discuss and explore curriculum improvement and data analysis.

Our school offers a wide range of learning experiences for the children through a developmental approach to appropriate curriculum. At the preschool level, we use the OWL curriculum and supplement with the Fundations program for letter identification and phonics instruction. For Kindergarten ELA instruction, we utilize the Lucy Calkins Units of Study which are taught through the Reader's/Writer's Workshop model as well as Fundations for phonics. Envisions is our math program. The entire school participates in PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) which is a universal, school-wide program that aims to establish a positive school culture in which students will learn appropriate strategies for behavior from one another - and thereby create school environments that are safe, consistent and socially predictable.

Parents are active at the Wildwood School through their participation in the Parent Advisory Council and parent volunteer activities. The PAC provides meaningful opportunities for parents, as well as fundraising efforts to expand students' enrichment and curriculum experiences. Parents are also given the opportunity to participate in a joint School Advisory Council partnered with the Boutwell Early Childhood Center.
