Dear Incoming Wildwood  Families,

I hope this message finds you well and that you are enjoying the summer.  We know that you are likely anxious about the many uncertainties of the upcoming school year and wanted to provide you with some updates.

The district will be sending out something early this week that will ask families to make a commitment for their child/ren as to which mode of learning you will want to pursue for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. As you know by now, there is the intent to start the year with a hybrid mode of learning that will see students in school part of the time and participating in remote instruction part of the time. While you will be provided with the opportunity to change your decision periodically throughout the upcoming school year it is essential that we know definitively the plan of our families for the start of the year.  Please watch for this information coming soon.

Gathering this information from families will provide us the number of students planning to return to the classroom which will assist in the placement process. We are hoping to send out classroom/teacher assignments as soon as we are able. We apologize for the delay, but ask for your patience as we continue to work on student placement and schedules.

We are planning on providing each student individual school supplies which consists of the following: pencils, erasers, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, and glue sticks. At this time, we are asking each family to supply their child/ren with the following: (1) plastic pencil case, (1) plastic 6qt clear storage box with lid (ex: Sterilite), (1) 8ct. Crayola classic color markers, (1) yellow highlighter, (1) 4-pk. black Expo low odor dry erase markers, and (1) 1.5” 3-ring binder with clear front pocket (ex: Avery). Please label your all supplies. These supplies will be your child/ren’s personal supplies for the school year and will not be shared with others.

Please note that Dr. Brand, Superintendent of Schools, will be hosting an online meeting this Thursday, August 6 at 6:30 p.m. to provide parents/guardians with specific updates and information regarding our reopening of schools. Please watch for the link to this meeting coming from his office soon.

As the month progresses, I will be sending out more information as it becomes available. In addition to email communication, information will be shared on the district website at www.wpsk12.com and the Wildwood Twitter page @WildwoodECC

Thank you and have a wonderful afternoon,

Mrs. King
